Migraine attacks can significantly impact quality of life. Despite advances in migraine management, there is still a critical need for treatments for children, teens & adults.

We are studying a medicine called Nurtec™ (rimegepant) that is approved by the FDA for adults for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura and the preventive treatment of episodic migraine. The medicine is a tablet that dissolves on or under your tongue.

We are conducting additional research to better understand its safety and effectiveness for other populations, like children, teens, and adults with other types of migraines and health conditions.

There are several clinical trials that may be available to different age groups. People who participate in this research may help researchers better understand migraines and potential treatments for children, adolescents, and adults who experience different types of migraines.

Participating in these studies

Joining a clinical trial is a personal decision. We thank you for considering participation as an option.

Each clinical trial will have its own unique requirements for who can join. The requirements may include your age, how long you have been experiencing migraines, how many migraines you have every month, and what medicines you have taken for migraine.

The migraine clinical trials are expected to take place in around 150+ centers throughout the U.S., and you can talk to a study representative to find out which study might be right for you.

About Migraine

Migraine is a debilitating disorder that affects about 15% of adults, and 7.7% of children under 18 years of age. A migraine is characterized by moderate to severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head.

A person with migraine often has nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can last for hours to days and the pain can be so bad that it interferes with daily activities.

The importance of representation

The greater the diversity among clinical trial participants, the more we can learn about potential medicines, including how they work for different people with migraine. Many factors, such as genetics, race, ethnicity, gender, and age, can impact how people respond to a medicine. That is why it is so important that clinical trials include people of all backgrounds. Everyone needs to be represented.
